We busted out 30 wrapped bouquets the other day!

This video shows 10 being made 😆 triple it and there ya go! Remember that you don’t just pay for flowers. It’s labor, supplies, tax, etc. that factors into the cost!

We don’t offer Valentine’s Day flowers but this was an order for 30 wrapped bouquets for a repeating client so it made sense! Our loyal customers are some of the best and we’re so grateful! 💗

Our @hollychapple Abby compotes are hands down one of our most used supplies!

We have them in small, medium, and large, and they work for literally anything. Plus, they’re plastic, so you can spray them any color to match your design.

🌿 Want to know the fastest way to install greenery on site?

PREPPING in the studio beforehand!

All of our greenery for aisle markers, centerpieces, cocktail tables, etc are prepped in the studio a few days before the event.

Why?

Because this saves SO much time on site.

We “clean up” a bunch of greenery and divide it how for however many tables we’re using it for, band it together and put it in a bucket 🪣. On event day we’ll take it out of the bucket, dry the ends then pop it in the delivery car 🚙. This eliminates having to deal with water on site!

This video from start to finish is about 40 seconds long. Bunches were laid down the aisle where they needed to be placed and we knock it out. So easy! So smart! So efficient!

This is probably my favorite system because it’s so easy to do and I thank myself every time for doing it. 😆

I’ve been going nonstop, and I don’t know what it was, but yesterday felt like a breath of fresh air. I literally just got up from my desk, left everything as it was, walked inside, and shut the door behind me. For about an hour, I did whatever I wanted. My brain completely shut off work mode and switched to relax mode.

Will it happen again? Probably not. But that hour? Absolutely glorious. 😂

Our cherry blossom branches showed up totally bloom-less (which we knew could happen), so we got creative! We transformed them by hand-gluing white stock, white larkspur, and white delphinium onto the branches. Turning a floral fail into a total win.

Just a little reminder that in the floral world (and life), thinking outside the box can lead to something even more magical than the original plan! 👏🏻

It was the craziest ride, but honestly, I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

We LOVE our collapsible carts by @olympia.tools and have all 3 sizes they offer. They’re 10/10 and we can’t live without them!

The small 3 shelf (150 lbs) cart we keep in the studio. We use this size to help us pull supplies, fill vases, etc.

The larger two carts we keep in White Betty. We use these on site to help make unloading go faster plus we use it around the venue to help us set up.

Having a cart on site is a great tool! It eliminates having to walk back and forth plus you can have all the tools you need right there in front of you as you walk around the venue to set up or install.

When we first opened Cone Flower we designed in the entryway of my house. No cooler, no work tables, nothing. Just a pair of clippers, tiny rolling cart and a tarp on the ground. Moving back inside was annoying but it was a great reminder of where we started. One I’ll always cherish and remember.

Smilax comes in a bale or a half bale. Sometimes in a bag. Sometimes in a box. Sometimes by length. It all depends on who you’re ordering from!

Clients, remember the labor that goes into installing smilax. It’s beautiful but also labor intensive depending on the design. You’re paying for the cost of the greenery plus labor so when you’re envisioning it on your big day think about what goes into making that vision happen.

It’s beautiful and can’t transform any space! We love it! 🌿

Grab a @sterilitecorporation bin—any size will work, but we love the 41-qt option! Just put a label on it, drill a few holes in the lid for airflow, and you’re all set!

Staying organized doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s all about finding a system that works for you and your space.

When THOUSANDS of stems are being thrown away you pack your car full 😱

Last February we participated in a floral show and at the end of the show thousands of stems were being tossed. It was so sad to witness and we did everything we could to give away flowers.

We ended up packing Black Betty completely full with flowers and taking them back home. We gave away a ton plus used some for our open house a few days later.

It was the craziest thing to witness 👀 😱

Owning a business means no such thing as sick days. 🤒

Last week, I was down for the count, but the flowers still had to be processed. 🌸🍃 They were already on their way for our open house, and there was no pressing pause. Did I want to do it? Absolutely not. Could I have called in help? Sure. But when you’re the owner, you show up—no matter what.

We weren’t just attending the open house; we’d committed to providing florals for the venue. Backing out wasn’t an option.

Getting sick was beyond my control, and honestly, those were some of the hardest days. But owning a business means finding a way, even when it feels impossible. When you make a commitment, you follow through. That’s how trust is built and how you grow!
