After I did portraits I actually changed my hair, makeup and bouquet for the day of. I’m so thankful I did them because I wouldn’t have been happy day of.

I assumed my hair needed to be up because I loved the straps on my dress but that’s not me at all. 99% of the time I wear my hair down when I get dressed up! It’s always curled. I was going against the norm and it didn’t feel right.

I thought I wanted a lighter makeup look that was more natural but no I definitely didn’t 😂

I LOVED everything about my bouquet but wanted more blue in it! @wildlycultivated nailed it! The only thing I told her was blue and white. It was so perfect. 🤩

In the end, I’m really glad I did them. If it’s within your budget I would 10/10 recommend! I also loved being able to see the entire look come together. It made me realize how heavy 7 layers of fabric is on a tiny dress 😂 I could’ve made another dress with how much they cut off!

PS. Buddy wouldn’t leave our side and followed us everywhere. My little man! 🐄

When we load up we always double check and recount everything. The item gets checked marked with a pink marker to indicate it’s been “packed”. Pink = Packed.

I’m telling you greenery is such an underrated addition to florals! 🌿

The venue installed hooks into the brick when the chapel was finished. There’s many reasons why I love the owners of Lone Star Oaks but one of the main ones is that they listen to their vendors. I mentioned that it would be helpful to have hooks so florists could do more with the space. Without hesitation they installed hooks! I mentioned that it’s better for the venue to installed mechanics vs vendors trying to do so because they could cause damage.

They’re the best of the best for this reason + many others! 🤍

Invest in the installs!! Smilax can go a long way if used the right way! If you’re a bride wanting this look ask your florist what else they can do with it!

7 years owning a company and one thing I’ll never take for granted is this.

MY TEAM!!

Every single person who’s helped build CFD to what it is today. To all my people, THANK YOU 🤍💙

Without a solid team you can’t grow. Without delegating you can’t grow. Without trust you can’t grow.

Finding hard working employees is hard but they’re out there! It takes time to find them but you will. Trust your gut when it comes to hiring people. If someone isn’t working out don’t force it. You’ll waste time and money during the process. You’ll only hurt yourself by doing it.

I’ll always give people a chance because without someone giving me a chance I wouldn’t have what I have. Everyone deserves it but it’s the ones who capture it that you keep!

It’s hard and I’ll be the first to admit it but once you slowly learn to accept that you have to have help to build your company everything will change.

I’m back to the beginning of not having a team. 2024 was an extremely hard year and our team at the time had opportunities to take that would further their dreams and careers vs what we had going on. I won’t be the one to keep them from that.

So, yes I’m doing it all by myself day to day right now but don’t you worry that’ll change soon. We’re picking up speed and not slowing down anytime soon. 🚙 💨

We used a new mechanic a few months ago so I thought I’d share about it. Foam cages with suction cups! These little tools are a game changer when it comes to attaching florals to smooth surfaces like windows, mirrors, or even walls. We originally found them on Amazon, but check with your local wholesale supplier because they might carry them too!

Here’s what we loved about them:
✔️ Strong Hold – The suction cups adhered really well, although we didn’t soak the cage so I’m curious how it would handle with a soaked cage vs non soaked.
✔️ Easy to Use – No major mechanics or heavy-duty rigging required. Just attach, design, and go!
✔️ Perfect for Small Installs – While we didn’t create anything overly elaborate, these were perfect for adding floral accents to unexpected surfaces.

They’re a great option when you need a temporary installation that won’t damage the surface. If you’re looking for a way to add flowers to a glass wall, vehicle window, or any non-porous surface, this might be worth a try!

Successful open house today at @bingham_ranch_events 🌿

Met some new friendors and caught up with familiar faces. This little gem is on track to be fully booked every weekend soon so if you’re looking for a venue with a stunning setting, don’t wait!

Genius idea I came up with this morning!

We typically put our arch pieces on top of a towel on the table then use a water can to hydrate them…well not anymore!!

I was thinking this morning how to do it without an added step and I came up with this!

A drying mat over the sink, set the arch piece on top then water directly into the cage and the extra water goes into the sink.

Genius! Happy Friday!

Start with your tape sticky side out. This ensures your ribbon won’t move! 🌸 GAME CHANGER 🌸

We have our precut ribbon ready to go. We wrap 2/3 times depending on the stem thickness and then tuck the end of the ribbon under so you have a clean end point. Grab two corsage pins and angle upward as you slide them through the ribbon and into the stems.
- this is key because if you go straight through the stems there’s a chance the pin could come out through the front and poke through.

Boom it’s as simple and easy as that! Of course there’s multiple ways to wrap bouquets but this is how we do it unless a client wants it done a different way. 🙂

If you needed all 10 stems to match, you’re now in problem solving mode: Do you have extra on hand? Did you order extra just in case a few stems were damaged? Can you adjust the recipe? Do you need to source a replacement last-minute? This is why flexibility is key in floral design!

It’s also why educating clients is SO important. Flowers are living products, and variations in color, size, and even bunch counts happen. Once flowers leave the farm and pass through multiple hands, we have to work with what we get.

Happy Hump Dayyyy aka Wednesday which is the main day of cranking in the studio! 👏🏻

We start Wednesday by pulling recipes, prepping greenery for personal flowers, designing personals (bouquets, bouts, corsages, etc.) greening centerpieces in if necessary, and so much more.

Let’s just say the studio is moving and grooving! 🕺🪩

How does your Wednesday typically look? ⬇️

Happy Hump Dayyyy aka Wednesday which is the main day of cranking in the studio! 👏🏻

We start Wednesday by pulling recipes, prepping greenery for personal flowers, designing personals (bouquets, bouts, corsages, etc.) greening centerpieces in if necessary, and so much more.

Let’s just say the studio is moving and grooving! 🕺🪩

How does your Wednesday typically look? ⬇️

🌸 Tuesdays are processing day for us in the studio!

It’s also the day where vases get filled, the studio gets reset, coolers get cleaned, and we get ready for the week!

There’s always a method to the madness and it’s no different when it comes to processing!

We fill buckets, unbox the items, check in the items, strip and give a fresh cut then into the cooler they go.

This was a small/simple order to process so it didn’t take too long nor did I really have to clean the stems. This is rare 😆

I cut over the trash can too because I didn’t want to have to sweep. 🤪 Normally the ground is a mess and we pick up all the mats to give the room a good sweep.

We empty trash at the end of the day everyday. Starting the day with a clean tidy studio is the key to success! 💪🏻

The perfect springy wildflower bouquet! 💐

The texture, variety, and color were so spot on.

I remember the ease of designing this bouquet and how I was shocked when I finished in about 15ish minutes! I typically adjust/take longer when there’s 15+ varieties in a bouquet. My hand starts to cramp and I start to second guess myself but this bouquet was different.

Honestly, I think it was the weather that day! We had the door open, it was a beautiful sunny day, birds were singing, music playing and overall a perfect day in Texas. ☀️ ☁️

People ask us all the time about this and this is how we do it! We always use two zip ties no matter the size of the cage and 99.9% of the time always go through the cage vs using the holes on the cage structure itself.

Using two zip ties vs one makes it more secure plus if one were to break you have a back up. Probably not necessary all the time but it’s a good habit to get into.
This will save you a lot of headache vs doing it after the design is done!

Honestly it was like 4 but who’s counting? 🙃😆

We started out at @stagecoachsalado shooting our corporate looks with @wildanduntamedphoto 📸

These were so dreamy and spot on!! If you followed our saga on our 72 inch table on stories just know we figured it out and nailed it! 👏🏻

Then we headed to @theurbanbartlett to collaborate on a few different shoots for @pinkparasoldc with @timwatersphotography 📸

We set up in the ceremony space with our @simpleecone Bejeweled collection then set up a table in the reception space with our @simpleecone Wildest Dreams collection.

This worked perfectly as @pinkparasoldc needed different set ups for her vision to come to life! It was all perfect timing to help her get the looks for her ideas behind the different set ups!

The main stunner was an elevated table set up we did in the reception space that was shades of green and white. 🌿 Again, worked out because our corporate shoot was white and green!

Cari’s vision was beautiful and this was something we’d never done before. Swipe to the end to see it! She also did a beautiful draping install which I forgot to snap a picture of!😱

All in all yesterday was a long one to end our nonstop week but so worth it. We’re so grateful for all the vendors we worked with from the @lakeserenityranch open house/styled shoot to our corporate shoot and then our @theurbanbartlett shoot! Also, very grateful for @rlinflwrs at @pikespeakwholesale for always coming through and getting us the product we need!

Remember that styled shoots take multiple people to make happen even if you don’t see them on shoot day!

They can be costly for florists so be smart when doing them. Remember, it’s okay to say no or charge for florals. 🙂

Then we headed to @theurbanbartlett to collaborate on a few different shoots for @pinkparasoldc with @timwatersphotography 📸

We set up in the ceremony space with our @simpleecone Bejeweled collection then set up a table in the reception space with our @simpleecone Wildest Dreams collection.

This worked perfectly as @pinkparasoldc needed different set ups for her vision to come to life! It was all perfect timing to help her get the looks for her ideas behind the different set ups!

The main stunner was an elevated table set up we did in the reception space that was shades of green and white. 🌿 Again, worked out because our corporate shoot was white and green!

Cari’s vision was beautiful and this was something we’d never done before. Swipe to the end to see it! She also did a beautiful draping install which I forgot to snap a picture of!😱

All in all yesterday was a long one to end our nonstop week but so worth it. We’re so grateful for all the vendors we worked with from the @lakeserenityranch open house/styled shoot to our corporate shoot and then our @theurbanbartlett shoot! Also, very grateful for @rlinflwrs at @pikespeakwholesale for always coming through and getting us the product we need!

Remember that styled shoots take multiple people to make happen even if you don’t see them on shoot day!

They can be costly for florists so be smart when doing them. Remember, it’s okay to say no or charge for florals. 🙂

Well, we made a few tweaks swapping out the mums for more deep purple stock, orange snapdragons, and chamomile and let me tell you, it was the perfect change to make her dream bouquet a reality. 🤩

41 got an upgrade! A BIG one that is.

We had a new mini split unit installed in 41 yesterday and he’s BACK 👏🏻

If you’re not familiar with 41 he’s our walk in cooler that my dad and I built about 5 years ago! We call him 41 because he’s set to 41 degrees.

We built a room, had it sprayed with foam, popped a mini split unit in there and attached a coolbot to it. BOOM you have a walk in cooler. 🕺

Of course you can finish it out and make it pretty but honestly I just don’t want to spend the money to do that 😆 He does the job right either way and he’s perfect the way he is. Maybe one day!

We used McDowell Enterprises and Owen was our tech if you’re local and need an AC company. They’ve been great to work with and so kind. 10/10!

Highly recommend deciding on your shelving before building a walk in! This was my biggest regret as we could’ve gone a little bigger and I could’ve put bigger shelving units in. We make it work with what we have and boy have we packed him FULL multiple times. Especially for Cristian and I’s wedding 😆

ALSO, Laurel is back for a week!! I’m grateful for her coming down from Oklahoma to help. We’re also celebrating her two year anniversary of being at Cone Flower!! Can y’all believe it? How should we celebrate?!
