Our dried product was getting out of hand so what did we do?

We found a solution using @sterilitecorporation bins of course!

Laurel came up with a great solution a few years ago on how to maintain and keep up with the amount of dried product we had.

We went through event stem of product. Organizing it by type, throwing away bad product, selling product we would never use, etc.

We grabbed some sterilite bins from walmart (on sale!!) and started to organize everything.
- we drilled holes in the top of the bin for air flow so product wouldn’t mold.
- pampas grass is in an old pikes box because the pieces are so long!

This cut our dried product cost significantly!!! It was truly nuts because we would order the same item constantly just because we couldn’t find it. It was crazy and a complete waste of money. 😑

This is an inexpensive way to stay organized, save money and keep a handle on your dried product!

When we prep stems for bouquets, we keep all the extra fluff in a designated prep bucket and that’s exactly what we use for boutonnieres, corsages, or any of the little extras.

We even make our own stems to add into designs that need a little extra!

Knowing how to process these babies so they actually last. This is how WE process them! Some people do it differently but this is what works for us!

Remember hydrangeas take in water through their petals!

Hydrangeas need more love than most florals:
✔️ Take off plastic
✔️ Fully submerge the head for 30ish minutes
✔️ Then give it a fresh cut
✔️ Let the head dry completely
✔️ Then put them in the cooler

Problem solving skills 100 on this one y’all!

Remember when we were shooting our corporate designs a few months ago? Well I finally got a chance to edit this and piece it together. It was pretty funny watching it all bad. It came out so good!

We had a lot of doubters but no one would even know we did this if didn’t share the BTS on pulling this off. 🤪

I’ll share some pictures @wildanduntamedphoto took from our shoot. Thankful for her collaboration on this shoot. If you’re local and need a photographer we definitely recommend her! She’s one of the best!

Also, shoutout to @stagecoachsalado for collaborating with us on this one too! Grateful for their team and support for local businesses. We love working with them! We also may be a little bias as they have the best ballroom for a wedding reception! 😉

My biggest advice is don’t do it unless you’re willing to truly put in the work to get to where you want it to be.

It won’t be handed to you. Success won’t happen over night. When things get hard or you feel defeated you HAVE to keep pushing forward. Hard work pays off and having the right mind set is the biggest challenge. You have to know that you’re going to work 24/7 and overcome challenges to get to the next level.

I’ve worked so hard for the past 7 years and continue to do so. Through all the ups, downs, pandemic, slow seasons and busy seasons to keep pushing forward to get to where I want to be.

Work is shifting but in the best way possible! Am I done? Absolutely not! We’re just getting started. 😎

So don’t give up if you’re just starting out. Don’t compare yourself to others or compare Instagram followers. Success looks different to everyone and that’s the joy of owning a business. You get to determine what success looks like to you! Celebrate the small victories and know that you’re not alone. 🤍🌸

We’ll say it louder for the florists in the back: it’s totally okay to blend the two when it makes sense for your client!!

Sometimes faux is the more practical (or budget-friendly) option and when you’re using high-quality stems, no one will know the difference.

This design is proof that you don’t have to sacrifice style for flexibility. It’s simple, elegant, and honestly…I’m obsessed. 🤩 😬

🌿 Designing broken arches in the studio has been a total game changer for us! It’s less chaotic, we have all our supplies on hand, and we can take our time making sure mechanics are solid before heading to the venue!

For this install, we built the entire thing at the studio, loaded it into WB in two sections, and then transported it to the ceremony site. Once there, we brought an extra product to fill in any gaps and account for any shifting during delivery (always bring backup product!). 👏🏻 The best part is that it was transported to the sweetheart table during cocktail hour!

Bonus: The client returned it to us after the event! 🌸

🤩 If you’re a florist and have the space try designing off-site! You’ll reduce day of stress especially if you have a short set up window!

We buy them in bulk and use both black and white because venues are never one-size-fits-all. Black blends in with darker poles and draping, while white disappears on arbors, fences, and lighter structures. It’s one of those tiny details that makes a big difference. 🙌🏻

If you’re still using the cheap, flimsy ones…stop it! These are strong, reliable, and they actually hold up under pressure (literally).

Our rep Rachel picked out a variety of blooms for us to play with and this is what came out of it! 🤩

A flower pull is when you give your rep a budget and some guidance on what you’re looking for and they pull together flowers based on that! We love this because we get to sometimes play with new product and it’s a fun surprise to open the box and see what’s in there!

She pulled:
— Pincushion protea for bold texture
— Ranunculus for softness and color layering
— Kangaroo paw for height and playful movement
— Rhododendron for richness - 🆕 to us!
— Calendula for that cheerful pop - 🆕 to us!

We filled in with nagi, salal, and a few anemones to complete the look.

I’ve never been more embarrassed on a wedding day than I was a few weeks ago…😣

We made a major mistake and I want to talk about it. We didn’t follow through on something super important to our bride: her mono floral bridesmaid bouquets. Instead, we designed our standard mini versions of the bridal bouquet. WHY? Because mistakes happen and we missed it. 😞

As soon as she brought it up (so kindly I might add), we dropped everything and started pulling them apart to remake them on site. Right there. In the venue. Sweating. 😅

I felt defeated. I was overwhelmed and honestly a little heartbroken that I’d missed such a crucial detail. But it was a turning point.

👰🏼‍♀️Brides, this part’s for you: if something isn’t right on your wedding day, say something!! Kindly, calmly, directly. You deserve to have your vision honored and we can’t fix what we don’t know. Our bride handled this situation with so much grace, and it allowed us to make it right instead of her walking away disappointed. Even though I was extremely embarrassed that our bride pointed this out I was so grateful she did. 🌸 @hanna__low thanks for being the best!!!

Mistakes are inevitable even when you live by systems and organization like I do. What matters more is how you handle them in the moment. ☑️

This one moment could’ve derailed the entire day, but instead it became a trust building moment with our bride. She was thrilled with the fix, and it ended up being the right design choice all along.

So if you’re in the industry, here’s your reminder: you’re going to mess up. Own it, fix it, and learn from it. That’s what builds a reputation that actually matters!

- We used the single wire method to build the base + whole bouquet. Worked like a charm! 💙🤍🌿

I can’t believe it’s taken this long to do this…

We prep everything else when it’s dry so why not this?

We started putting our zip ties through our cages when we pull supplies on Monday! 💥 GAME CHANGER 🤯

There’s no more forgetting and having to do it after the arch piece is made. It’s genius and we’re so smart 🤪

When we soak the cage we fill the sink up and drop the cage in with the zip ties. It soaks up just like it would without the zip ties. 👏🏻

I can’t believe it’s taken this long to do this…

We started putting our zip ties through our cages when we pull supplies on Monday! 💥 GAME CHANGER 🤯

There’s no more forgetting and having to do it after the arch piece is made. It’s genius and we’re so smart 🤪

When we soak the cage we fill the sink up and drop the cage in with the zip ties. It soaks up just like it would without the zip ties. 👏🏻

First time making a flower crown… for a horse.
(Okay fine, it was a mini donkey but she served Kentucky Derby realness.)

We kept it super simple: started with a base of Italian Ruscus and built out a floral collar using bind wire. We wired on everything roses, carnations, filler, right down the line and then connected both ends to make a full circle that sat perfectly on our four-legged friend.

Was I stressed about water? Absolutely. It was HOT in Texas and I was panicking about how the blooms would hold up. But truthfully? It was way more important that everything was secure and snug on the collar than having a water source. The flowers held up beautifully for what we needed.

This was our first go at a floral collar like this, and honestly it worked like a charm. I’ve got another method up my sleeve that I’ll share next week…stay tuned for Flower Crown for a Donkey/Horse: Round 2.

🌟If you’ve got a vision in your head even if it’s super specific or something you’ve never seen on Pinterest go for it. It’s your wedding. Your vibe. Your moment. Not your aunt’s, not your coworker’s, not the internet’s.

One of the biggest floral tips I can give is this:
Just because you can’t find it online doesn’t mean it’s wrong.
Not every great idea has already gone viral. In fact, some of the most original, jaw-dropping designs we’ve done came from couples who weren’t afraid to get a little unconventional. 😎

Let’s talk bridesmaid bouquets because mono floral designs are having a moment (and I’m here for it)!!! This past weekend proved to me even more so that we love it. 🤩🤩 Whether it’s a bundle of fluffy white roses, soft pink ranunculus, or even something unexpected like sweet peas or tulips, choosing just one flower can actually make a bigger statement. It feels modern, intentional, and totally elevated. Plus, it helps create a cohesive look across your bridal party without feeling too matchy-matchy. Don’t overthink it. If you’re drawn to one bloom…lean in.

✅❌ Pinterest is a double-edged sword. It’s full of inspo but it can also box you in. If you can’t find an exact photo of what you’re picturing, that doesn’t mean your idea is weird or impossible. If you’re not seeing the perfect shade of mauve or the exact bouquet shape you’ve dreamed about, that’s not a sign to give up. It’s a sign that you’re onto something unique.

And that’s where hiring experienced vendors comes in. We’re not here to copy and paste someone else’s wedding. We’re here to take your original thoughts, dig into them, and bring them to life even if they’re not trending or pinned 10,000 times.

We love being challenged creatively! We love the “how can we make this work?” moments. And most of all we love when a couple shows up with an idea that’s all their own.

Truthfully, I wasn’t planning to do anything with my bouquet. Flowers hit differently for me (florist life), and preserving it didn’t feel necessary…until Cristina reached out. She offered to do this for us out of the kindness of her heart and suddenly I started second guessing everything.

Cristina and I have never met in person, but she feels like an old friend. You know those people who just get it? That’s her. We all know how hard running a business is especially in busy season and yet she took the time to create this for us.

Cristina, thank you for preserving something so personal and meaningful. It’ll live proudly in our home, and every single person who walks through the door will see it. 🤍💙

😱 TRUST YOUR GUT is all I can say 😬

Holy hell y’all if we didn’t get those bricks in the morning I truly don’t know what we would’ve done. 🫠 For some reason in the morning I had this feeling that we were going to need extra support to weigh the trays down and a lot of extra flowers.

We always bring some flowers in case stuff breaks during transit but this feeling was something else. We brought every leftover stem that went with this wedding and thank goodness we did. We ended up using every single stem between replacing broken product from the wind at the ceremony site and then after we moved it to the reception.

The wind did a number on these arrangements but we were prepared! It was nutty but we got the job done. ✅

Zip ties and 🧱 are your best friend. Add these to your car/toolbox if you don’t already have them!

PS. We’ve casket saddles as well and with the wind that day we would’ve had to do the same thing with the bricks. We used single brick trays here. The wind was insane. 💨

PPS. definitely think we have to go to a @lcrockstx concert 🤘🏻
