In Texas we have an off season for smilax so we decided to start testing companies that ship all year long. @liv_and_vine_smilax was one company that y’all recommended!

They reached out and we said absolutely let’s do it!

We’re testing another company in June and can’t wait to see their quality as well. It’s always a great to have options to choose from when it comes to product. 👏🏻

Still soaking up all the love from yesterday! Thank you for the birthday wishes, the sweet messages, the thoughtful gifts, and just making me feel really special. 💙

Cristian + the fam put together a little get together at the winery last night for me and it was the perfect timing to get me out of the studio.

One things I’ve realized over the years is that work will always be there but your people won’t. Plan the trips, plan the date nights and take time to be with your people. I’ve never been a pro at work life balance but I’ve been trying really hard to prioritize time with the ones I love.

Yesterday was just that! 🤍 Now back to the studio I go! 🤩

Thinking about using a beverage cooler as a floral cooler?

It works!! We’ve had multiple of them in our studio. We currently have 3 + a walk in cooler.

But I made a mistake. 😵‍💫🫨

Our newest cooler, Brenda, was turned on and ready to go for the week but I didn’t check the temperature. I completely forgot!

We processed product yesterday and put buckets in the cooler. 6 hours later I find our product frozen/burned from the temperature being set too low. Panic set in but our girl @rlinflwrs has our back!

Remember that everyone makes mistakes and no one is perfect. This was a costly mistake but a lesson we learned the hard way. Sometimes that’s what it takes for it to not happen again. 🫠

Every spring, Rachel sends me a few bunches just for me. There’s no reason for it beside the fact that it makes me happy. Haha I even budget for it. 😆

I don’t usually keep fresh flowers in the house the rest of the year (I want everyone else to enjoy them!), but this little spring tradition always sparks some serious joy especially on the hard days.

It’s the small things. Like tulips. 🌷

Okay but who knew a round bouquet could be this satisfying?! 🤍

This was my first traditional round bridal bouquet with all white roses and I used the spiral technique to build it out.

It kept everything snug, round, and looking way fancier than I felt making it. Proof that even seasoned florists are still learning new tricks! 👏🏻

It was a hot but perfect April day for their wedding. We ended up giving our two bunches of baby’s breath to Lisa’s friend who was also providing flowers for their big day! She ordered a baby’s breath garland for the mantle and it wasn’t the best looking so we gave her our two bunches and then used our “extra” flowers we brought to add into the designs to make up the cost.
- This is another reason we always bring extra flowers just in case because you never know what might happen!

Someone greens them in then someone else adds the blooms it’s become a little routine that helps us stay in sync and knock these out quickly without compromising on design.

Whether it’s 5 or 25 of these babies, this method keeps us sane and on schedule 👏

Florists, if you’re doing lots of repetitive designs, splitting the tasks like this is a game changer!

Did we have to? Nope.
Did it make a difference? 100%.

Owning a business isn’t always about the big, flashy wins. Sometimes it’s the quiet little moments that matter most, saying yes when you could say no, helping a stranger when you don’t have to. Those are the things people remember. And honestly? It felt so good to just show up for someone in a time of need. 🙂

Swung by @17southsteakhouse this afternoon to deliver some rehearsal dinner flowers, and WOW this place is a total gem! The restaurant is gorgeous, and the upstairs space is seriously perfect for events. Such a great vibe, amazing atmosphere…10/10 recommend!

Fun fact: Sam and Eric (the owners) also run @hiddencreekatstonehaus and @raeallenphoto basically your dream team in one. It’s a one-stop shop for weddings, events, and photography. Love to see friends crushing it in all the ways!

So glad we got to stop in, catch up, and check out their newest venture. If you’re local, you have to check them out! And don’t miss their Jazz Night! Cristian and I are definitely going soon!

I wanted to share another price breakdown for you! This tray is $275.00+tax. We’re located in Texas and we’re a wedding and event florist only.

I understand that not everyone is going to agree or understand our prices and THAT’S OKAY! We’re all charging different amounts because of the cost of the product + how your business is run.

The cost of the product + supplies will shift your overall cost plus your markup. Of course there’s a standard mark up in the industry but it comes down to your overhead, labor, etc. There’s so many factors that go into your overall cost besides the flowers. Most people don’t think about those aspects when they see designs. They judge the size and the flowers not really knowing! That’s why education and transparency is so important.

Remember this:
- labor
- water
- supplies
- time
- cost of flowers
- delivery/shipping
Are just a few of the many things that factor into our price.

We don’t just charge what we charge to “rip off” or “price gauge” our clients. If we wanted to go there let’s talk about the price of a new phone from Apple or a new car 😆😂

This tray could also be designed with 1 type of flower and there maybe 4-5 stems because that one flower is SO expensive.

Pricing boils down to how many varieties of flowers, what type of flowers, supplies, design, time and a hell of a lot more.

Tuesday is our processing day! 🪣 🌼

It typically looks a little different as I normally have someone to help me but right now it’s just me so I switched our system!

Each event gets assigned a color and I would fill buckets then process one event at a time. This ensures that my head stays on correctly and I don’t get overwhelmed. 😆

We created 8 email templates florists + wedding vendors can use to professionally (and kindly!) say no in different situations.

Turning someone down is never fun especially when they’re sweet, but just not the right fit. It’s hard to say no, but it’s also part of running a healthy, sustainable business.

It’s taken me a long time to feel confident enough to turn someone away simply because it didn’t align. But this is growth!!

If a potential client inquires and it doesn’t feel right whether it’s the budget, the vibe, or your gut, don’t do it. Saying yes when you’re unsure almost always leads to a messy experience for everyone involved.

These templates are here to help when you’re stuck in your inbox, second-guessing what to say.

Use them word-for-word or tweak them to sound like you just know you’re allowed to protect your time, energy, and business.

It’s taken me a long time to feel confident enough to turn someone away simply because it didn’t align. But this is growth!!

If a potential client inquires and it doesn’t feel right whether it’s the budget, the vibe, or your gut, don’t do it. Saying yes when you’re unsure almost always leads to a messy experience for everyone involved.

These templates are here to help when you’re stuck in your inbox, second-guessing what to say.

I realized that if we want people to understand the “why” behind floral pricing, we need to stop tiptoeing around the numbers and just share them.

We’re transparent about literally everything else our process, our behind-the-scenes, our go-to products so why is pricing still so hush-hush in this industry?

When I was inquiring with vendors for my own wedding last year, it drove me crazy how hard it was to get a simple quote. And listen, I get it—custom work requires custom pricing. That used to be our approach too. But it also left people feeling confused, overwhelmed, and unsure if we were even in their budget. So…we’re switching it up!

From now on, we’re going to be more upfront with our pricing before clients inquire.

Will every item still be custom? Yes!

Will pricing still vary depending on design, product choice, and scale? Of course!

But now, people will be able to get a realistic idea of what things cost and start building a budget with actual numbers in mind. It’s up to us florists to help determine floral budgets as that’s our job to educate everyone in the wedding industry! Just like it’s a photographers job to educate them on photography pricing and so on.

And honestly? If that makes the process easier and more approachable for clients why wouldn’t we do it?

We’re not done rolling this out on the website, but it’s coming soon!

This variety of mini carnations has my heart!!

I believe they’re called solomio and they’re so cute!

@rlinflwrs sent them to us awhile back as we couldn’t get the quantity of the regular ones we needed. I’m so happy she did!

It’s the little things in life like a weekly tulip delivery🌷

I very rarely receive flowers or keep leftover flowers in the house since becoming a florist. It’s a gift to be able to see and handle flowers everyday so to be able to give that to others is what brings me joy!

Buttttt for some reason every spring I crave tulips in the house!! I started this little tradition with myself a few years ago and every week no matter what’s going on I always smile when I open the box of tulips. It’s a little surprise and something that is just mine for a minute. 🤍

This is your sign to 1000% do bridal portraits! 📸

After I did portraits I actually changed my hair, makeup and bouquet for the day of. I’m so thankful I did them because I wouldn’t have been happy day of.

I assumed my hair needed to be up because I loved the straps on my dress but that’s not me at all. 99% of the time I wear my hair down when I get dressed up! It’s always curled. I was going against the norm and it didn’t feel right.

I thought I wanted a lighter makeup look that was more natural but no I definitely didn’t 😂

I LOVED everything about my bouquet but wanted more blue in it! @wildlycultivated nailed it! The only thing I told her was blue and white. It was so perfect. 🤩

In the end, I’m really glad I did them. If it’s within your budget I would 10/10 recommend! I also loved being able to see the entire look come together. It made me realize how heavy 7 layers of fabric is on a tiny dress 😂 I could’ve made another dress with how much they cut off!

PS. Buddy wouldn’t leave our side and followed us everywhere. My little man! 🐄
